THE PLATTERS TODAY
In keeping with our founder Herb Reed’s wishes, we continue to evolve and entertain music fans of all ages worldwide. In addition to continuing to tour domestically and abroad (Covid-19 permitting), we are involved in many diverse projects. Today we are in the studio recording new music that highlights the tradition of the vocal group, combined with a contemporized sound, enhancing The Platters' multiple award-winning music acclaim.

THE HISTORY
In 1953, bass singer Herb Reed founded and named Diamond, Rock & Roll, Vocal, and Grammy® Halls of Fame group, The Platters®. Joe Jefferson, Cornell Gunter (who would later form The Coasters), and Alex Hodge, along with Herb were the ORIGINAL members. By 1954, Tony Williams, Paul Robi, and David Lynch, replaced Jefferson, Gunter, and Hodge. Soon after Zola Taylor was added to the group. In 1955, the vocal group debuted on the national music charts with “Only You (And You Alone)”.

The Platters music evolution continues today through the crisp, vocal stylings of members Brian "Cousin Brian" McIntosh, "The Professor" Lance Bernard Bryant, Leslie "Teef" Mon'e, and Omar "Scooby" Ross singing the timeless hits, along with brand new music to be added in more than 50 years.
